Reese'n'Cheese

By lasko303 on January 4, 2026 5:05 pm

Hi gang!
This is my first Track for my first attendance @ weeklybeats. I am so excited to take on this challenge this year with all of you! Thanks to everyone on the discord building up the hype through week one. It really helps, that there are so many enthusiastic people on here, with so much positive energy. smile

All started with the supersaw chords, done with m8s hypersynth. (who doesn't love hypersynth? tongue) The sax and Reese samples are from splice. Feels a bit like cheating, since most of the vibe comes from the sax sample.
All in all i am super happy with week one. The mix is too busy at times, but I like the lofi  aesthetics for this kind of track.
I am a little bit afraid of the coming weeks, cause I think I have outdone myself with this one. I struggle with that a lot. Feels like am competing with myself. Have to remind myself it's about the journey/learnings... art is no competition. smile

Thanks for listening!

Wishing you all happy Weeklybeats 26!!

love the Reese and sax, works excellently together!

Welcome, totally agree, art is no competition. keep on going and learning.

The sax is, indeed, very vibey. Good job!

does what it says on the tin. hypersynth is so good.

pure vibes 😍

chocolate-peanut butter and gouda! good combo!

Welcome! Excellent tune is excellent! Fear not about WB and the weeks ahead: you’re now at 100% bangers for 2026 WB. This is a great ratio to stat you off with. With each passing week the risk diminishes, and the year is long so there’s nothing but opportunity ahead. Lean in, you’re gonna love it.

I was gonna make a joke about how I hate the HYPERSYNTH but introductions ought to be sincere. M8 crewwww lets go.

Thanks for your words, ilzxc! You're totally right, gotta see each week as opportunity for growth. (and bangers big_smile)
Thanks for the more positive perspective. Needed that. heart

big vibe from saxes for sure smile but nice sounds and mix overall!

Holy cow that brass hits so hard! Love it

Yeah this tune is heavy!!!

When things come back in at around 2:20 with the gate, it sounds so dope. Sick track.

Damn damn damn this is mighty fibe!

this is fun - keep having fun lasko303 - you go this!

Thanks for sharing. We are always the only standard that counts. The Reese melody is a banger.

That hypersynth sounds great! I always distort the oscillators a lot; it's nice to hear a different timbre from them. Sweet track!

Really large sounding great stuff 👍

Welcome to WB, Lasko !!!

Pretty rad vibe you've created here. The song is groovy and really uplifting. Wish there were more arps like those around the 2:30 mark. The mix sounds quite good to me in big monitors.

As this is my 7th WB, I can tell you there will be masterpieces and duds... and often both won't be obvious on release day. You'll spend days polishing a track to a "meh" response and sometimes a 10 minute idea will engage others. Just try to enjoy yourself in the process and have lots of fun !!!

Greetings from Spain smile

Welcome! Looking forward hearing more of your tracks :3
