I Can Breakdance

By Laohu on February 8, 2014 11:31 pm

Light-hearted ditty, inspired by 'Do You Love Me?'

More practice with recording vocals, so any tips about vocals, recording or mastering are appreciated.

Oh yeah, here's the lyrics:
Do you remember when I was 17? To be with you was my sweetest dream, but let's be honest, I never stood a chance.
Well, I hope you're ready to catch my Hail Mary. Take a look, it's the same old loser me, except I've learned a whole new song and dance.

(Chorus)
I can breakdance, I've been practicing real hard.
I can breakdance, pop and lock my way into your heart.
Girl, so you know, I'm doing this for you.

Now that I've got your curiosity, I can tell that we were meant to be, and as I flare, I see you checking me out.
You glide to me, I glide to you, sticking' together like dancing glue. Yeah yeah yeah, skoo-wop dooby-dooby-doo.

(Chorus)

I won't stop hippin' 'til you start hoppin', come on baby, I'm gonna get your booty rockin'.
The beat is thumping, rhythm is boom-shaka-lakin', can you feel it from your head to your feet?
-repeat-

(Chorus)

Wow. Just wow
I think vocals are pretty good. I know nothing about recording them anyway

Awwww yeah, super dig!

I'm also slowly working on improving vocal recording, so I'm not an expert. I think it gets a bit muddy in the chorus when you layer the distorted vox in there.

Holy sh1t! That chorus kick in is ridiculous! big_smile  Love the delicious minor chords at the end of the chrous and the busy second verse accompaniment.
You have a terrific voice as well dude - push it up in that mix and let's hear more of it!

What a work on those tunes!!!!!!! Just lovely! Oldies mixed on early-electronica....?!?! roll

Back for more of this...so much fun
