Untitled X - Untitled in Space

Not making space ambient (not yet anyway) the title is just a Jason X joke.  Funny right? le sigh

I dunno, I just kept kicking this can down the road til I had something I was willing to submit.  You know that thing, where you think you're on to something and listen to it the next day and are very confused as to what the hell you were thinking?  All you can do is keep kicking the can.  As I said, le sigh.

More Granulator and Kontakt

Not going to lie, putting harsh noise into Granulator is crazy fun...bit rough on the ears though.

Made in Ableton

its like hearing the computers and AI on a super massive space ship chatter with each other. Really cool sounds in this one.

Try not to stand by any liquid nitrogen. or defrost an unkillable murderer.

Really liked how the harshness would occasionally rise up and then submerge - the overall vibe is very much calm. Nice icy sounds in here. And then the vibe changes at 4:00 with that tapping sound , subtle, very effective.  Ending was unexpected, a drop into chaos. So many good sounds in this.

I REALLY need to play with granular.

Also, I laughed.

Such a calming tone even with the edges flaring in and out.  The ending was instant black hole vibes yikes   Excellent work!  I appreciate and laughed at your le sighs as i can totally relate smile

Lovely sound design.  I really like the little clicking sounds that bounce around the stereo field, and then rise up into its own voice.  I agree with Beefounder, it makes me feel like I'm exploring a technological "other" world that just doesn't notice or care about me... until it suddenly does.  Very cool textures, and the ending is perfect.

I do feel like im untitled in space. i love the space and sounds you used here. very relaxing, mysterious, amazing

Thanks man.  In truth I'm not really a huge fan of Jason X but liquid nitrogen kill was something else...that and the campers haha.

Thank you.  That end was a happy experiment, I wondered what would happen if I slowly decreased the grain size - you should hear the uncompressed version.  And yeah you gotta play with it, I'd bet you make some wild tones.

Black hole vibe, damn I love that description.  Thanks as always for listening, I'm also glad you got a laugh.

Thank you, after listening to your ambient/soundscape tracks that means a lot.   It's funny, part of a thesis I wrote was about cosmic indifference and sound...never thought those themes would creep into my music.
