So I got Kontakt 7 in the NI sale just gone and, of course, spent time with a tape deck plugin rather than learn any of the synths or anything.  More work in Granulator, really digging it.

I needed more time, the high notes are kind of a mess.  The prettier one is from Westwood Instruments' Roots and the nastier one is feedback thrown into Granulator.  Was trying to get the harsher noise to drift in and out of the nicer one, it's rather abrupt though.  Will keep at it, the bits that worked were close to what I was aiming for.

Made in Ableton

Loved this. I'm a huge fan of the Magnus archives. It's a horror podcast where all the episodes are made to sound like they're being played back on a cassette deck. As soon as I heard that tray snap I was hooked. Great job with the atmosphere.

11/10 spooky.

I'm with Beefpounder - as soon as I heard the cassette sound, I was 100% invested. And that ending click...perfect.

As always, great atmosphere.  That deep heartbeat pulse in the back was amazing. Love that you got that amazing nasty drone using feedback in a granular synth! Fantastic.

These tracks you've been posting are totally making me want to check out granular synthesis, it seems like such a great source for unexpected sounds.

It's funny how much I miss my simple dual cassette tape deck stereo.. Those lil clicks and snaps always set the mood for me.  Maybe I've been playing too much Little Nightmares this past week but this would fit perfect into a scene where you're evading the baddie in the dark with only a flashlight.  The heartbeat is a nice touch too.  I got Kontakt on their previous sale and I used some drums a few times and then forgot to explore more hah.

Like those tape sounds and a really enjoyable track too.  Definitely some Ligeti vibes going on with the high tones.  Very enjoyable!

In all honesty I nearly didn't use the tape player plugin as I thought people might poke fun.  Glad people liked it smile

Thanks man.  I'm not familiar with that podcast, I'll have to check it out. I like a good horror podcast.

Thank you.  And you should definitely play around with it, the sound palette from them is wild.  Hell of a time sink though, just sitting and making odd/weird/awesome sounds.

Thanks, I'm happy the tape sound worked out.  I still need to play Little Nightmares, it looks like a lot of fun.

Holy crap, I'd never heard of Ligeti before (my classical knowledge is quite poor) but this is amazing.  And thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
