Wonkfest

Didn't had any free time to make music. I was assigned to a different operation base and the week had nice moments while being somewhat hectic.

This is a really old (iPad 4 old, I mean) beat I made using a forgotten drum machine for iOS called DM1... I guess this one has more than 12 years, yet I dumped the basic loop in 2025, then added some Max for Live "Diffuse" delay/reverb for the mid and high frequencies and called it a day.

An I forgot to mention the original DM1 loop was chopped and rearranged slightly out of pitch / time using Renoise for extra wonkiness smile

At least, I guess the beat is somewhat wonky.

Thanks to everybody who dropped by. Lots of love to you smile

Holy crap, DM1…..that’s a blast from the past! I sort of miss those early days of music apps on iOS, before GarageBand arrived.

I dig this wonky beat. Almost has sort of a silly feel to it, which I wouldn’t think was something that could come across with just a beat. Good stuff!

Whoah... yeah, "silly" is a good way to put it, kinda less "serious" and more playful. I forgot to mention (I didn't remembered back when I grab the actual loop) that it was chopped and rearranged in Renoise for an extra swing.

I totally agree with you. DM1 was from a time when apps were quite less powerful yet very intuitive. I "want the seriousness of pro-apps" and AU3 units, yet I'm still wrapping my head around a MIDI automated AUM session, while back in those days of the iOS ecosystem the experience was more like "look, mum! I'm making beats in my table now!"

Thanks a lot for listening, man!!! Glad you dig it smile
