Voyager (interlude)

I was doodling around, like usual, in order to find something to sample for a IDM/Hip Hop track. That's how most of my Berlin School tracks come to life. In fact, given some time, I think this one could be chopped and resampled for an excellent beat driven track (maybe next week? who knows?)

One thing lead to another, and after some automation and some adjustments, I ended up with this monotonous sketch. It lacks a proper intro, and although it's a little bit cliche, all was inspired by some documentary about the Voyager probes and their trip to explore the gas giants on the solar system.

I'm afraid it's just some loops and some filter sweeps in order to make it bearable, but after last week, when I was so sick I went to bed and forgot about the world, coming with a simple idea is at least welcome.

I'm slowly finding which Linux plugins I could use in the Reaper/Renoise world and stop trying to "recreate" Ableton. I mean, every DAW and OS has their strong points, so I'm trying to explore what my Linux setup has to offer instead of finding "plugin X and fx Y" that sound exactly like what I use on the Macintosh.

And I don't mean it as "LINUX vs Whatever"... it's the same thing when I work on a Windows system... or on another Mac with Studio One or Logic instead of my beloved Live. Exploring is fun, yet mastering is when you miss your old and trusty tools.

Hope you're all doing well. Thanks for the nice comments on my previous tracks. I'd love to catch up as soon as I had the time.

Take care, WB family. Enjoy seven more days of hapiness smile

Beautiful. I love the layering as things go on. You've captured that spacey feeling for sure.

And you should _definitely_ give this a go with a beat. There's this great sense of tension in here now that my brain keeps telling me is going to be released when the kick comes in, even though I know it's not coming, haha. It's magical as is, but if you've got that idea rattling in your head, I'm here for it.

Beautiful sounds here, they work on there own how you have them here but would also love to hear them with some beats, either chopped to some hip hop style beats or some old Orbital tracks kept coming to my mind.

The irony of it all is that Ableton Live runs on Linux inside Push 3.

This is an excellent synth build and the js80p sounds top-notch. No notes, first-class sound design, a very satisfying harmony. Five stars.
