Streetwise talk

Believe it or not, this started slicing the original soundtrack of the classic MegaDrive/Genesis game "Streets of Rage" (level 2, "dilapidated town". I'm not particularly a fan of the game (I haven't even played it ever!) but I though I could do some FM inspired chopping.

All started three hours before the deadline, completely in Ableton Live.

I'll include a link to the original music, though I think this time I could happily say the slices are small enough it to be quite different. What do you think?

Hope to give it some form and make it a proper song. Feels kinda weird though still interesting smile

Things are going a little ruff in life lately ("corporate" bulls**t and FUD spreading, if you know what I mean) so maybe it would be hard for me to keep it up with the Weeklybeats... anyway, I wish you all a great 7 days smile

this is really cool! love the edits and the vocal snippets, great sounds!

Sorry to hear about work pressures. This definitely would be good material for further development.

Great sounds and nice space in the beat.  Love all the surprises with the samples, pitch bends, vocal artifacts, etc.

Sorry about the corporate BS - hang in there!  WB fam is here for you! heart

Sorry to hear about the BS of late corporate capitalism, and here's hoping things improve for you. Digging the slow-grooving atmosphere of this one!

Interesting sounds here, has a nice groove/flow to it, I actually used to be a big fan of this game

It's not as chipper as the original, but it creates a mellow atmosphere all its own.

Cool chunky sounding beat especially on that snare hit.  The fluttering synths bouncing around the stereo field adds a nice vibe too.  Noice!

Great minimalistic work, i dont like chiptunes.
But i agree with Devieus.

This has a real cool groove. The squares blipping around and the backbeat give it a real indie-game quality that I super dig~!
