Precompiled funk precedures

Just 12 weeks to the end of this WeeklyBeats!!!

As always, I can't believe everything happened that fast. Just came back off-duty yesterday, so I'm still recovering.

I had some pretentious ideas in mind but well into Sunday afternoon, nothing seemed to work. So I decided to start from scratch 3 hours before the deadline, using one drum loop from back in my Reason era, circa 2008.

I found some stock Ableton sampler preset which produced time-based modulation, like a lame implementation of a Korg Wavestation patch, then added delay and some resonator so it would fake an electric groove.

The "ambient" interlude was me doodling with some Rhodes piano back in 2014 using iOS Samplr app. Harmony matched (well, kinda) by an struck of luck.

Well, it's nothing amazing, but I'm glad to be doing some beat-based music again. Hope it got some half-decent groove to nod your heads.

Thanks for all the comments and the continous feedback, even when I seem to be completely absent from WB. You people are amazing!!!

Dope beat. That synth sound is sharp as cheddar and that grooved segment coming back around after the soft bells pad @ 1:35 is perfect.

this slaps hard
