Pearl dust

This week the weather has increased my workload a lot, so less time to make music. Also, I started some sort of "spring cleaning" since I had to change some cabinets... therefore even less time. I was working on some ambient guitar and some other beat oriented stuff, but then the bad weather came along again, and ...

The snowstorm made me spent my Sunday in a hotel, waiting to get back on the road. I hadn't any of my regular computers on me so I cooked this little synth jam on Ableton in slightly more than one hour using three simple analog instances and some delays. Extremely simple and short, I know... I was about to give up, but guessed it is what is is. I guess I must continue my planned project this week, then.

Sometimes life gives you a night in a random hotel dinning with strangers, with snowflakes softly hitting the windows smile

Gotta get to bed now

You certainly pulled it off. Well done, sir.

It's really good to hear you enjoyed, Jim. I'm sure you know that feeling of being this close to give up on your song. Much appreciated, Sir smile

I really dig the crispy, whitenoisy synths in this one!

I sympathize with the time constraints. I did this week’s entry in about 2.5 hours.

Nice work, as always.

Thanks Scottux. They're a relatively simple pseudo-analog patch with sync delays, programmed in a percussive fashion, adding some internal feedback to the reverb, so "the noise" adds some strenght to the overall sound.

NIce, kinda like a snowstorm textures. I'm glad snow has melted where I'm at, though who knows, more could come.

I like this. It definitely has a snowy evening vibe to me. Nice especially given your time constraints!

Gorgeous work, sir!

I mean, this is so awesome to me though.  I always crack up when people are like, "I had no time, sorry for the little jam" and the little jam is like SO CRESCENT FRESH.

This sounds like looking out with window with a nice cup of cocoa.

Nice work, it could do with some punches, maybe a little melody to go with it.

It's been a really snowy week here in Spain this two weeks. It seems the worst part has passed, but...

Really glad you found this track evocative in some way. The time constrain was strong and I thought it had no direction when I was creating it. Thanks again for listening Miraclemiles

Thanks very much, Roboctopus! As I mentioned to Miraclemiles, I had the bad sensation of "pointlessness" when I was creating this one on the hotel lobby. I'm glad it brings some snowy images.

Would love to explore this "mallet-esque" sound with more time on my hands

Well, I'm quite flattered Orangedrink! It's the greatest compliment to know this sounds I made in a real hurry, almost tempted to say "it's my 4th weeklybeat year... just fuck it, who cares?" ... If they bring some winter to your imagination, then it was worth it smile

Thanks again, man!

Oh, definetely. I was thinking if it was acceptable to "revisit" some of our own WeeklyBeats submissions later in the year. There's always one element that comes to our heads after the deadline, I think.

Thanks for your kind words smile
