Naufragio

This week's been a little hectic. I've been mantaining my servers, updating software in my Linux computers and dealing with some stuff at work, plus real world and some social Coronavirus inconvenience. Fortunately everything's quite fine, but I ended tired and not having too much time for music.

I dug this one out from my vault of projects: a Reason loop from 2004 plus some early arrangements in Live from back in 2011. It's definetely a mess and I think I'd need to dump everything from Reason again, this time isolating some instruments properly so I don't have to abuse the EQ and filtering.

Those vocals are mine, mumbling some stuff about feelings and relations that went south, in Spanish. Nothing deep, it's just me trying to come out with some decent lyrics while humming Kenny Roger's "Lady". I didn't remember those takes, and they're drenched in too much reverb and fighting with the drums, but as I said previously, I run out of time so re-recording anything was out of the question.

I gave up 20 minutes before the deadline before I run out of time. This is totally an unfinished thingie.

Really too tired to write a proper description. I really wish you the best for the coming week.

I'm finally back home and off-duty, so I think I could catch up with the comments.

Lots of love, y'all, no matter where you are in the world smile

Thanks a lot, Mission Crossing! The mix is all over the place, but I think tht maybe with some strong polishing, it has potential to become something

Appreciated that you dropped by and had a listen

Whoah, thank you for the "gem" compliment. Much appreciated.

Oh, man. I see you did your spanish homework. The "shipwreck" came from the lyrics, though I don't know if you can make some sense out of them (They're not saying something truly meaninful in Spanish, but I loved the words so I used them... you know, the essence of pop music!).

I should be catching up with your releases now, Ipa. Thanks for listening and droppin' by!!!

That heavy bit-crushing is dope! I really like the mood on this one, the contrast of the smooth, airy vocals and pads with the grittiness of the beat works great!

Thanks a lot, Gab! As I said previously, I wish I could rework this one in a while to properly sit everything in the mix. It all came from a Reason 2.5 project from 2004, so I'll better use the experience I've gained since then and separate all the elements.

Thanks a lot for listening

Now I have to tame that bit-crush

I really like the break about two thirds into the track, very atmospheric and airy!
Good work!

Good work!

tack så mycket, my friend smile

I'd love to properly mix those drums in the future, separating some things so I have more control over the dynamics.

Really digging the beat.  I hadn't read about the vocals at first and I started humming along and then bam you came in!  The vocals sound great.  It took on a trip hop feel with the bassline and pads too.  Nice work!

Hefty and percussive sounds as usual, also very cool to hear your vocals! Great processing heart
