My own Nineties that never were

By laguna on October 24, 2022 12:01 am

So this is the proper REUPLOAD of my fake "lost 90s track". I'm pretty satisfied with it, really. It still needs a lot of work to be finalized, but I guess the main structure is quite there.

EXTRA THANKS to Aday and to Orangedrink and iPaghost for leaving some of the funniest comments on my (early uploaded and totally incomplete) 29 second version. You guys ROCK !!!

All made using a stock install on Ableton Live 10 Lite with no mastering. All sounds came from stock presets stacked one onto another and/or resampled in order to circumvent the "Lite" edition limitation. It's true that sometimes limitations improve creativity, and it was nice to remember how I made certain sounds back when I had no other equipment but a Pentium PC, a tracker and a pair of headphones.

This is fake 90s in all its glory. "Limited" as Live Lite could seem, I'd kill for something like that back in 1997 smile

Have the nicest 7 days possible, WB family. See ya next week smile

Sadly the re-upload of my track "destroyed" the early comments. However, Orangedrink and Ipaghost left one of the funniest comments I've ever recieved. So, here is a sort of recreation of the previous thread:

Hahahahahaha Drew, you definetely made my day. Thanks, man. Lots of love smile

The track is very nice!  I do love those limitations.  I also remember having demo versions and terrible computers and just making a little melody line took SO much work!

Great throwback, and thanks for enjoying my silliness smile

Fantastic track and really takes me back. For those of us who were teens in the 90s these tools really are a dream come true!

Enjoy some 1990's era gifs:

› Long story long:

Great title. Love that warbly synth. The story behind this is cool, and the comments above on the short version, hilarious!
