I'm still catching up with previous weeks. Sorry for all the unanswered comments.

Been busy preparing some work-related stuff, being mildly sick and finishing my home and studio improving. I hope to be able to record some video and share with some of you certain improvements I made, specially interesting for computer nerds and MIDI geeks.

This made the deadline for 32 seconds.

Completely constructed from an 8 bar loop created on my beloved Yamaha RM1x. I really want to finish some patchbay improvements so I'm making music, not figuring out why some cable was misteriously unplugged while I was moving some power supply within the rack.

I had a great time placing my RM1x on its long wished spot in the studio, and once you "get" the sequencer, its super fun to program. However... not much time to finalize this into a song. A little more than a jam, maybe.

I've just realised the mastering rack at the master was off, and the sub (that certainly sucks) was missing for 16 bars!. Anyway, the arrangement is so sketchy, I'm sure nobody will notice.

Busy day tomorrow. Please, have the greatest seven days you could possibly have !!!

Pretty coherent for a jam. Always wanted to try one of those machines - have heard some amazing some stuff from them.
Keep jamming

Great drum line! Loving the ride cymbal swells here. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks a lot. I fixed some obvious mistakes after the deadline. Maybe I should dust off my Soundcloud account and upload some update of this track.

The Yamaha RM1x is quite fun once you get it, though it has its oldfashioned / hardware sequencer quirks which are well thought for its time. Grab one if you find it cheap (buttons are easy to replace but if they fail the user experience goes to hell). It's a Yamaha QY sequencer with a small screen and an XG module attached to it.

Thank you Maurice! Yeah, I had a little soared throath, but I'm doing much better now.

I'm glad you like the groove. All samples are basically TRx0x-style ripoffs from the Yamaha XG soundset, pitched down.

My box is plugged to a Mac Mini from 2009 so I can use Ableton Live 8 as EQ / Compressor/ Limiter. The cymbals have all the reverb and delay the machine could offer, yet its a very very lame 90s "internal mixer / rompler" delay smile

slick drum groove! especially enjoyed those cymbal passes.  Like cars passing.  The ominous dark strings give it a David Lynch feel too.

Gosh when those pads come in its absolute gold. This would really sit well as an interlude piece on a concept album - has all the interest and transitory-sense of an in-between moment that stands on its own but pushes forward. Which all sounds like nonsense lol. Its really good, great little jam that sits in its space perfectly.

The metallic acid drums and lurking notes create a dark futuristic vibe. I’m excited to see a video of your studio!

Love the variation in the drum patterns in this! Great balance with the pads too
