Mind holidays

By laguna on February 25, 2018 9:44 pm

This is some kind of intermission music. I wasn't really inspired beyond certain points, so I tried to leave a half decent sounding piece that's not too long. Also I'm back on duty, so I had some work trips and assorted real life events distracting me from a clear music goal.

Fake congas (a Max for Live patch mixed with samples) and some Waldorf Rocket monosynth lines looped and "effected" live. All converted to Ableton Live clips and some automation.

It's really a simple piece. Not much to say, but wishing you could go on some mental holidays for 2 and a half minutes with this, in the best case.

Have a fantastic week. Wishing to catch up with all the excellent music you're all releasing every week smile

Whoah... I've missed almost the whole Winter Olympics. Guess I must search on Youtube for a "best of" ... Glad you liked it, Jim, and thank you for listening smile

Digging the groove of the percussion and that voxish lead synth.  Suhweet!

I need a mental holiday and maybe a physical one, too.

well done. Nice trippy song.

Well I’m going on a holiday tomorrow, this is a great start to get me through the night until I get to leave the snow and ice for warm and sunny days, like the sound of those “fake congas”

Oh yo, that's some tasteful effectery on the squares. I also wouldn't have thought to pair those drums with the synth progression, but you did and the song is so much better for it!

Thanks Q-Rosh. Didn't knew what direction to take, so trippy it is smile

Fake congas are your friends, Jason. Wish you have a great time. Enjoy yourself!

Really glad you liked it, Scott. I sincerely didn't knew where to take the song, so in a moment of doubt, I almost always opt for some groovy pseudolatin drums smile

It was that or some more pointless parameter tweaking...

I really like how this comes in! I feel like it's a great "preparation time" music for a strategy game or something like that haha, somehow building anticipation while having a focussed loop giving you the stability you need to make sound decision wink

the vocoding effects near the end are fun, reminded me of plone or maybe plaid a little. Great shaker mastery! haha

Excellent work
