Maschine exercise 1

By laguna on March 7, 2022 12:01 am

After some tiechnical difficulties I made this quick joint. Still learning the tool, so I had to bounce everything to Ableton and arrange there.

I've had Maschine for like, 6 years, but never "got it" and I was about to sell my controller and license, but finally I sat down in front of it and, don't know why, everything made sense this time. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I now could get rid of some "so-so" gear that's also neglected in the studio.

¿Have you ever had a similar experience with some piece of equipment or software?

Wishing you a fine week, wherever you are. Peace !!!

Haha tack så micket, ScanianWolf!!! That kind of clap was a stock sound, layered a couple of times and resampled. I then kept a dry "loud one" and a "weak one" pitched down and with added reverb. Try it! It's a nice easy trick.

The mix is somewhat messy because I was in a real hurry. I'd love to improve those arps with some more intrincate harmony.

this sounds awesome. your maschine works fantastic.

You are a maschine! Beautiful sounds, crunchy beats.

Oh yeah I'm with Scanian - this distorted clap has a fantastic texture - it crunches under the teeth. Super cool against the smooth layers. You got some very cool sounds and nice trip of a track with this instrument.

I recorded the kids stepping on crunchy ice on the way to school this morning to hopefully use for something one of these weeks, I guess I could have just used this clap.  This beat has such a nice flow with those mellow pads

Gotta love the crunchiness and BoardsOfCanada-like pads.  The Maschine is working just fine smile

love the chord progression of the pads.

so happy to hear the Maschine worked for you.  I think I had a trumpet for over 10 years before I took some lessons from someone who made it make sense for me!  There are some other pieces of gear that I never "got" - but then I sold them.  I'm probably going to sell my Nanoloop FM!

good stuff!!!!!!
