Ultra simple beat made with Nanoloop while riding the subway. Kudos to all the Nanoloop masters out there (I am not one of them).
I had to render all the tracks (well, all three) and apply some cheap tricks to create the pad. Basically, all the FM melody / percussion is filtered using the drums as modulator, then dumped as audio while passing through my usual delay -> reverb chain, and then repitched +7 / -12 so to build some kind of chord.
Since the rhythmic element is so basic, all the two extra "FX dump tracks" are modulated using tremolo on 16ths and 4ths... I run out of time, so the whole thing is extra basic. I'm using synced delay lines with odd and even values on 16th notes (2 and 5, 3 and 6...) so the echoes create some illusion of background melody, yet the main "bass" is just a 2 bar loop and some variations on the fourth repetition.
Well, basically two bars and lots of "smoke and mirrors". Hoping for better luck next time.
Thanks to all the people listening and commenting, despite my "radio silence". I really have to catch up on the comments.
Lots of love to you, WB family
