In da mud 4 da gruv

I spent almost the whole week preparing a video for my last week's effort in Weeklybeats, and then came the weekend. The project I wanted to finish is fortunately intact but wasn't available inside my computer at Sunday evening, so I grabbed a somewhat "groovy" snippet I made using my Volca Beat sampled into an Akai MPC 500.

No separated tracks, just one for kick, snare plus hihats and another one for toms and bass, being "the bass" some low tuned toms, doubled.

And what do you do when it's already 2 hours and a half to the deadline and you don't have a clue... YES, you use Ableton's resonator, so you look like you have some sort of imagination. Yeah, some automation, not enough variation on the beat and a really poor structure with one key variation.

I sadly almost consider this one an unfinished beat, but it was the best I could do given that time. It definetely needs more time.

By the way, good news it's some videos are almost ready and I expect to add them to my weekly releases really soon.

Tomorrow morning (Monday) I'm planning to catch up with the comments and have a listen to all the fantastic material you're putting out. Meanwhile, have a great week, wherever you are smile

Lol I love the title this week. This is smooth as hell. I love reading about how you're doing your tune each week even though I struggle with the names a bit. Have a great week too heart

Whoah, thank you Hieme!

It's true that sometimes give your own tracks a name is quite difficult. I myself use a very organized (and boring) naming scheme, so I came out with this absurd "mood for the groove" title. Think it's groovier than the original "Sketch_VolcaThroughAkai_104bpm_24b44k_Live10_Arrangement1.flac" smile

Now some smooth GIF attitude...

Straight outta tuning Korg Volca's toms. They make sweet tones when slightly overdriven wink

Thx 4 dr0pp1n' by & c0mm3n7in' M8. Th1s g33z4 w4n7s ya 2 gruv 2 th1s smile

Thanks, Franky. I appreciate your words, and it's nice to listen to that in perspective. Maybe it's rough on the edges, but I kinda like the groove after all

this one is great. so laid back and mysterious. well done.

enjoyed this one, especially the little key switch up that happens in the middle

love the synths in this, loads of body and presence - nice groove that keeps ticking along. this has a really nice quality to it

Thanks a lot, Q Rosh! I must do something with this track and make a finished, more developed version

Thanks a lot, Zirafa! I struggle a lot with key changes, because I'm not really versed in harmony, so I'm happy it works.

Hope it was groovy enough smile

I'm happy you dig it! . I'd love to take this track further, though still no time to pull it out.

Thanks a lot for listening!!!

This is very cool, was surprised to hear the story behind it as it sounds fully formed. Agree you could do more but I suspect with this having the deadline meant you kept the vibe and didn't overtweak it.

Very cool

I really love this one (I know it's my second comment here smile ), the mix is great, so is the feel. We should do a collab sometime if you're into it.

nice beat and great switch up

Sorry for replying so late to your comments, guys. My bad!

Glad you find it "fully formed". With some weeks of perspective, I'm more pleased with the result, though most of my projects come to life as some kind of "Frankestein-esque" effort, assembling fragments from previous days.

I probably should take your advice and don't "overtweak" to much.

Again, thanks a lot for dropping by and give it a listen!!!

Oh, I'll be flattered ???

I'm really sorry I didn't answer your comment early. Sorry for the delay (i dropped you a PM, also)

A collab sounds fantastic, although I'm quite afraid that I'm failing way short in the melodic department. Your synth skills are quite impressive, judging from your stream.

Please let me know if you're still up to it
