Fuzzy feeling

Good things : This week I understood a thing or two about chords, improved my own RaspberryPi-based MIDI router and came out with some quite decent synth phrases

Bad Things : I didn't knew what to do with them.

I build this 12 bar loop using the Novation Mininova  and played my TB303 clone over it, though I could not match the levels. Everything struggled with everything in the mix.

Although I use the vocoder many times to create movement, this time I modulated the main synth motive because all the different elements were recorded a little "offbeat" (because of MIDI latecy?), so if I used a beatbox over the ostinatto, I could hide the misaligment.

The beat used for modulation is not the one you actually hear. It was too heavy on the snare and a little bit boring. I was lucky to find some 808 beats on my personal archive (after trying a lot of grooves).

I had to play a lot with the 303 timing. Maybe my MIDI router is not working that well? No time for an A/B test, of course (this is Weeklybeats).

So here you have it. The arrangement is nothing to write home about, but I run out of ideas.

I hope you have a great week full of musical inspiration smile

All I wished was a sparse synth track

what a delightful soundscape to play in

Thank you. It was a difficult one to put together, because every element seem to cancel each other. I think the idea gets through.

Beautiful GIF, also smile

The crunchy texture on the synths is really satisfying. I can't get the image of a huge empty sandy beach out of my head, not sure what that's about. I need a holiday maybe? Great tune.

sweet chordy feels on the opening synth and love how it dances around the 303 and beat.  An excellent timely listen on 303 day.  \m/

I haven't figured out what kind of video game I'd make with your music but I know I want to. Got a link to that MIDI router project?
