Clueless in Clubland

My first real semi-successful house track, built from an espontaneous jam.

I used my Korg Electribe 2s as a MIDI sequencer and created the bass line you could hear around the second thrid of the song in my Eurorack setup with a single oscillator and some delay.

I dumped the audio and messed around like I was John Digweed for a whole afternoon, and dumped everything to audio. It was a 4 bar sketch but I actually had a lot of fun.

However, back in Ableton I felt something wasn't "house enough", so it's the first time I tried an actual subbass to tie everything together. It's just a super-simple instance of Ableton's analog with a single sinewave and no filter. I'm afraid it's too loud, but I didn't have enough time to adjust the mix testing different speakers.

Even in my free time, I'm doing some work for a scheduled training/testing in two days time, so everything was made on stolen time. Anyway, I think the song could be promising once I figure out the correct levels.

Maybe one day I'll get the perfect kick for a techno track... I'll keep wishing smile

Hope you have a great new seven days in the world, WB family! Peace out and spread the love !!!

Nice head nodder of a house track.  Brings me back to some of Moby's older housey tracks.  The sub sounds good to me and I'm playing this at a relatively loud volume.  It def has a nice pace throughout the track.  Nice work!

dat beat slamz!

Banger! Awesome beat and sound choices--perfect soundtrack for raving robots.

Perfect kick for techno? All you need is a 909 big_smile

Nice work with that sub bass!!!

listening on a 2.1 and I really like the subbass here.  This is a smaller sub, but it doesn't sound too loud.  Did you sidechain the sub & kick?  That could be an idea.

This was super fun and all the little noise surprises kept it fresh.  Nice!

I really love the bassline here, it really works with the groove, really hypnotic bounce

This is great stuff, instantly gets your head and feet moving, nice variety of sounds to keep things moving along, like how the energy picks up midway.  Totally understand the feeling of "stolen time"

I like this rooound bass and how it works against the beat. This is chill. Bopping my head as if I were in a nice dimlit club, just minding my own musical business.

oh yesss. I can feel that kick in my soul
