Cash from chaos

By laguna on August 20, 2018 12:01 am

An old project from 2014, that never got properly mixed. I took it on Sunday night and gave it an unusual treatment (for me, at least). Red lights and lots of compression.

Mixing house and uptempo beats had never been my strongest point. Hope it's punchy enough.

The title is inspired by Sex Pistols infamous manager: Malcolm McLaren

So this is some kind of tribute. From me, a middle aged guy who loves order and quietness and calls his Mum on a regular basis: thanks to the Gods of Punk for making the world a more unexpected and colorful place smile

Yet I now the song is not dirty enough... but this is how I roll haha wink

I'll be on Toronto next week, by the way? Any canadian WBeater up for a chat?

Have a great week, everyone!

May not be echt-punk, but it sure rocks. ::)

Great title, certainly has that dirty disco sound, just need a male/female vocal screaming over it.  Enjoy your time in Toronto, nice city but very busy, at least for me.  I’m in Canada but a few time zones over in Edmonton

This one is really dirty! I like the movement in the drums filter sweeps and the gnarly bass. Kinda wish I could hear it in a huge club rather than through my headphones.

Dirty grooves with that bass and filtered percs.  Nice!

Sorry for the late-late reply, folks. Some weeks I wasn't even alive in WB wink

Thanks Jim! I have some good ideas for this track. Currently lloking for an acid bassline to add over all the disco-punk smile

Now I need to find a perfect screaming sample to go with the vibe!

I wish I were closer to Edmonton, so you could teach me some of your iPad-music killer skills. Again, the trip went well and I wanna thank you for the feedback and positive vibes, man!

I wanna improve this one and add more variation, but I'm really happy with the basic "saturated" vibe. I've never used Ableton "in the red", or at least with all read and sounding OK smile

Thanks a lot Scottux and sorry for the late reply smile

Thanks a lot, Tone Matrix!

P.S.: Some "dirty" dancing ...
