Bitbanging

I rediscovered a forgotten licensed copy of Studio One I had, from back when I bought a (now "obsolete") FireWire soundcard.

I still can't remember how I got the upgrade from Studio One 1 to 3, but long story short, version 3 runs quite fine on macOS Big Sur.

So I took some moments here and there to learn how to do my usual workflow: a four bar pattern using the current sampler/drum machine available, plus some variations and audio bounces.

Four midi tracks, one send, one audio track. Just one instrument.

I'd love to add some other elements (I found some old game footage with nice campy 90s action dialogues) but I run out of time (still "on the call", so no "last minute 1:59 AM uploads" this week).

Hope you find this short minute of Studio One action enjoyable. Take care, WB family!!!

Damn that is a really nice sound, makes me think of early Kompressor or Knifehandchop. Dig it

So nice, would love to hear more of this with the video game dialogue.

Great sound palette. The resonating hits against the deep bass sounds make for a nice groove.

+1 to the knifehandchop reference. Can certainly hear it.

I'm interested to know what instrument you've used, I love hearing impressive sound palettes out of such a small range.

sometimes the minimal stuff is just the best! works great and has a lot of groove.
