Another quick one, built from scraps. I think these loops were originally from 2005-2007, made in Reason.

I remember back in 2010, uploading some "construction kits" to Soundcloud in order to get noticed (that was when actual people interacted with you on Soundcloud, instead of "pay for play" bots). As far as I know, nobody used them, so maybe it's time I rebuild my own sounds.

Acid courtesy of D16's Phoscyon (my TB3 is sleeping safely back at home).

Not really happy with the mix, maybe because I'm as tired as my ears. I find it muddy but I can't figure out a proper "frequency spacing". Finished one hour before the deadline (an improvement, at least).

I should be sleeping: two whole weeks ahead, straight on duty, no pauses.

Sending you lots of love. I hope to pay back the feedback I've been receiving. You're really kind.

Please take care of yourselves and have a great week, wherever you are.

It sounds your work is very intense. Good luck with that.
Nice beat! I like how it opens at 0:56 with this smooth synth lines and supported by the bubbling arp like synth.
Soundcloud and pay for play bots - haha i see i'm not the only one to get mostly these kinds of interactions. smile

This is great, there is a subtle delay swinging behind in background. I like the mix.

I work in an emergency service, so there's a lot of idle hours doing almost nothing, and variable periods of really high load of work. Bad thing is you don't know when any of them would start, so you better be rested and have your stuff sorted out. Thanks for the good wishes, Kedbreak!

The synth line is duplicated (I originally had two "stems", wet and dry from effects) and the wet one is used as carrier for a vocoder. Is a trick I use (and abuse) a lot in order to add some vague melodic/tonal background to my, usually, sparse beats. Heavy use of rhythmic delay in the background as a cheap way to "make it swing".

Oh, yeah! About Soundcloud: in the begining I loved it and interacted a lot. I even met some local creators through it. But after a few years and specially since the retirement of "channels" I simply don't understand how it works. What I mean is that I don't get where they're headed? Do they want to turn it into the next Spotify? Is it still relevant for musicians?

I miss when you could find real people or a channel like "creative commons downtempo" tracks. Now Reddit seems to me like a more likable choice for track promotion.

... Maybe I'm old and I won't be the next big thing in rap mixtapes wink

Vielen dank für deine antwort, man!!! As I mentioned in the answer for Kedbreak, I use several tricks involving vocoder and delay to fake my swing from somewhat static beats.

I use here two delay sends and if possible, I add a slight deviation (no more than 2%) from the grid time. Sometimes I even add some gates so one delay can mute the other subtly (maybe highpass-filtering it, instead of duck compression). That's how I could get really complex patterns from quite stale motives.

However, it is difficult to keep all the repeats controlled sometimes smile

Glad you like the mix. It's strong, sure, though I think I maybe exaggerated the kick too much tongue

This had a nice laid back feel to it with the kick/snare and sweet 303 lines.  Super chill.

I love the feel of this one. I really like the swirling background sounds.

that kick drum has the additional "squelch" of the bass, so good

hey, i'm in a local hip-hop beat battle that starts in two weeks.  i still believe in us to be the next big thing in hip-hop mixtapes!!!!!

Howdy and muchas gracias for all your comments. I pretty much only listen to the #m8tracker tag on here, and I have been missing out!
Your music is great and it is very distinctly yours. I love how you take it to so many different places but always with your voice.
The acid in this one is great btw.
