Weekly Beat 3

By Kris Keyser on January 19, 2014 9:33 pm

This one's a little different from what I usually do- I wanted to try and make a noise/ambient track, so it's sort of an experiment in LSDJ sound design. Made with just one Game Boy running LSDJ. Best listened to using headphones.

can we make chipdoom a thing in 2014?  tite. reminds me of a zen alba intro but dare i say...even angrier?

yeaaah smile

sounds OPL-ey in certain parts!  i think 2/3 of the way through the song is the coolest.

also count me in for the doombient lsdj D1M1core compilation

Different, but that is what this is all about, right? I like some of the textures.

Certainly a very different and original approach to LSDJ. Very interesting

Good to the last drop. Kris, you're a king, baby.

Nice noises, and I like the idea of doombient, as well!

This is really ominous... nice!

chiptune drone...works for me smile

Wow, some *really* interesting sound design here. I'm assuming you used a lot of high V commands in conjunction with chorus/phasing between channels?

Experiments like this are really helpful in pushing yourself to discover new sounds.

Yup, tons of V commands on this one, detune between pulse channels, D command to offset the start time of the notes between the two pulse channels... lots of stuff.
I think I'm most proud of that fading-in sound at the start, it almost sounds saw-like but it's just two pulses being messed with.

This is really creative man.  One of the freashest takes on LSDJ I've heard in a while hey.  Insane progtamming
