First of all... sorry! Seriously you'll have to bear with my first ever attempt of something that is remotely like singing which I am sharing with others since my primary school teacher told me in front of the whole class in year one (primary school) that I can't (and should not) sing. And whilst she was a b...h for doing that she was probably right. Why did I "sing" (or speak in a tonal voice) anyway? Because I wanted to experiment with some vocals and I just did not have someone who can sing stashed away somewhere.
Yet the results are not bad (if you can live with the frog in my throat). The text is taken from Hermann Hesse (Ravenna) a German poet. Recently this text has been going through my head as we used this text with a previous band (called Nietzsche) for a song which was published on "Schattentanz" a goth sampler in Germany.
I wanted to achieve a relatively harsh 90's sound so I used my good old Emu Synths a lot. The Orbit and Audity are still just good machines.

i am impressed!

Vox works well. I also am impressed.

If you want to "sing" try Melodyne (they offer a 30 day trial); It works wonders on my voice ;-)

Thanks for the kind comment. Yes, I know Melodyne and used it when I recorded others. It is very good. Thanks for reminding me, I had not thought about that for this one. Instead I have used the Flex Pitch in Logic (similar idea) which is not as good but still loads of fun. Unfortunately none of these tools will make my voice sounds like a good singing voice. I guess I have to continue practicing that.

Dude! The vocals are great! Screw your year 1 teacher! What a beeeaaartch!

There's singing and there's singing, maybe you're not great at that pop-style singing, which is probably all she knew existed.
