Week 1

Oof. So, it has been a while since I've done anything creative for its own sake. I've not put out anything except for one work in early 2018 and the year prior also very sparse creative output. I did WeeklyBeats in 2016 and I loved the community and the creative habits it got me into. Hopefully some of those people are still around. Looking forward to good, creative year.

To start off this year, I thought I'd try and put myself out of my comfort zone, so for the past week or so, I've been learning Renoise, which is totally different to what I'm used to (Ableton Live/Pro Tools/MaxMSP). The tracker interface is a totally different way of thinking, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Pretty much everything is from a sample library I put together by taking a hard drive image of FreeBSD and reading it as audio. I ended up with a library of about 250 samples and loops. Two exceptions in this track are the kick, which is just one of the stock samples with Renoise and a hit sample that I mangled with a Gen patch in MaxMSP.

Oh man this is lush. I'm stoked that you're doing 2020. Have you seen SunVox? You might dig it.

love this crispy electronica ... very beautiful! Very subtle!

I'm happy to be back and pretty stoked to see you here too. I have had a little look at SunVox before. I might give it a go later on.
