Went Swamp Swimming So That You Don't Have To

By Kedbreak136 on June 26, 2022 9:53 am

Another week that has pulled me under the water. The start was so brutal that I remember waking up on Tuesday and thinking we were already Thursday. I am still alive and next week should be better. Hopefully, ideas will come back.

In the meantime, here is a speedtrash inspired by my work, which feels like swimming in a swamp. Not very creative, I played with a few sounds in Massive, added appropriately random samples, recorded myself catching my breath after running this Sunday, and that'll do for this week. A track is a track. Hey, weekly beats muse, where are you? Certainly not in the swamp apparently!

Keep at it; hopefully the ideas you're searching for aren't as they may feel. I like the ambient sample you have in the background of the swamp. It grounds the track in a way, and gives it a unique atmosphere it wouldn't have otherwise.

but i really wanted to go! oh fine, this track will certainly do in place of the actual swamp-swim: especially love when it disintegrates into a few sparse synths then clamors right back before the end, so catchy! big_smile

Waiting for swamp thing to come get me.  Good track.

thank you for swimming for me in the swamp. I will be happy when you are out of the shit soon and get a big portion of relaxation. the track this week is rocking a lot and sounds awesome.

I like the title and your use of samples always elevates your tracks to another level.  In this case the swamp sounds really help take me there.  Hope things ease up for you soon. Being stressed and on the verge of burning out is never enjoyable.

I feel ya with the constant search for the WB_Muse!  Your basslines and synth work always sound so cool.  The second that synth kicks in oooh yea!  The frog bog adds a nice element at the end with your breath catching.  Hope you're feeling better!

Rock yeah!

Good job.

Intense, decent speed trash that's just you leaning into your style.

maybe the creature from the black lagoon has your muse?
this was fun

Infectious beats and massive tom hits.  Feeling the jungle closing in... not a bad dip in the swamp!  Whas that an Indiana Jones whip crack in the mix? Classic!!

Haha the swamp sound is my favorite part of the track actually. When I work in a cafe, I usually listen to youtube "sound of rainforest" or "early rain in the bayou" kind of ambient sound. That just helps me focus. smile

Swamp swimming sounds like a good idea until you realize you're not the only one swimming around. Thank you for listening! smile

Thank you for the comment! The swamp thing got lost apparently.

Thank you! To be honest, I cannot really complain too much. First world problems, I do have a job, etc. Anyway, I am happy I'm through and hopefully the inspiration will come back along.

Catching my breath helped. And then the frog. And then when I came back running the other day, there were a bunch of kids in the park in front of my home and they were doing freestyle rap and just enjoying themselves. That brought back a smile, seeing people just enjoy music for making music was really nice. I need to spend more time reading and watching movies for more music inspirations!

Merci beaucoup! C'est pas toujours facile, mais au moins j'ai fait un track! smile

Yes, that's a whip crack! More whip cracks in the track this week! The special tone, percussive, high, is just perfect, it cuts through a mix! Thank you!

You often go swimming in the swamp wearing futuristic 1980s shades and a jacket made of glitter? This goes hard -- the last 30 seconds of the track feel particularly like they want to go even harder. Hopefully in time of doing this for longer than a year I can hope to have your speed trash chops, this is way dope.

this is hype, can't tell this is speedtrash, nor can i tell that you were burntout.

so energetic and lively, like most all of your work!

loving those frogs that are totally frogged out

#swampcore

listening again, the drumbeat is your week and the little koto type thing is you like "please week, i'm tired" and then there is a whipcrack where your week is like "HAHA SUFFER MORTAL" and then you're out of breath as your soul leaves your body
