Vegetable

By Kedbreak136 on June 19, 2022 12:22 pm

Vegetable - that's the way my brain feels like. After a few weeks of brutal work and more to come, I am burnt out and not much energy to dig and be creative. Which is a shame as this just makes the burn out feel worse.
So i went with this speedtrash full of random melodies, metal drums, random samples (there is a whale in there as a low rhythm element! and some kung fu movie stuff from a splice library). Looking forward to having my brain back and being able to make something more interesting.

Man, June is the "end of half" month for me at work, so between finishing things & not letting others down & planning next half, it's been mad over here, also.

Your speedtrash work excites and inspires -- as it would even if you didn't tell me it's speedtrash. Really love the reckless abandon, unapologetic banging on those drums, unique sounding. Synths and arpeggios are delicious. heart

And the speed trash level continues to grow. I really enjoy the way this track opens, and the vocal line is a really nice touch. Sorry to hear about work being rough, but hope things relax soon. smile

For a track made under burnout conditions, this turned out pretty tight. Hope you get a chance to catch your breath soon.

wild stuff. enjoyed :]

Hope things ease up for you.  For being low on energy this track has a lot of energy and a nice onslaught of sounds.

I love the way the synth melody comes in around 0:30 or so. The drums are nice and heavy too. This one rocks pretty hard! There’s a nice symphonic darkness to it.

the buildup is super cool and delicious! oh and it returns in the outro! I like the weird first melody too, feels totally legit altho in the context of it being speedtrash it's super interesting to think how you decided on it i.e. I'm guessing pretty much first take? big_smile
I think the drums and energy do a lot in these tracks but still they always manage to have a story big_smile great work! hope you have an easier time at work heart

The intro was definitely giving off that disoriented vibe that makes the brain go mush, then a jolt back to reality when the intensity kicked in. Nice way to bring it back to the pitch shifting bells at the end too. Those vocal samples were a nice touch too btw!

Yes work sucks, totally get that burn out feeling, hopefully channeling creativity with weeklybeats helps to alleviate some of that.  Nice energy with this one, like those vocal chants at 1:28 and can never get tired of Kung fu movie samples

So much power left for a really fullscreen blaster song. respect.

Weird, but tasty.

Super fun. Love how the buildup drops into the 1:30 section and just how big and unrelenting the whole thing is in general. Can totally relate with the burnout these days. Here's hoping things can calm down a bit for all of us heart

Minus the description totally would not have guessed any burnout from you.  This has all your signature elements including worldly vocals.  The drums kick ace too.  Here's to errrbody getting recharged for the second half!  WB_Powers combine! Haiiiiiii!

Holy shit!  One of my fav of the year so far, I think.  This scratches my fantasy metal itch in the best way possible.  Awesome work on the drums, so bad ass.

i would never mess with this vegetable, this is one all-too-badass vegetable.

my brains been feelin' mushy too - hope yours comes online for you soon

looks like the embers are still plenty hot!

I always dig your snythwave thrillers! Epic battle drums.  Love the vocalizing at the mid point.  Packs in the drama!  Keep battling the forces dragging you down at work smile

Thank you for listening and your always very nice comments. For that one, I felt i had nothing left and made a smoothie with what was left in the fridge. Here are some arps. Some random vocal samples. What is that? Is that a bass? Let's put it in as well. smile

A few weeks later - I'm seeing the light at the end. At last! I need some days off.

A bit random though. I think I used the heavy metal drum to kinda address the overload I was getting.

Oh yes everything is really first take, super raw. Normally I'd edit it out, try to avoid repeating melodies too much, maybe make it smoother, bring some more sections, more instruments, edit things out. It was really "alright let's see what we can do with what's left of the brain". smile

yes, the gif is perfect. It's a mix of vertigo with sensory overload. That intro sound is actually a Massive preset - love it. I'll reuse that one!

To be honest, tracks are just an excuse to find an opportunity to use kungfu samples. Now that I've bought a whole new pack, I think I NEED to make new tracks making the best use of them.

Yes I think a lot of us on weekly beats get burnt out around that time of the year, maybe something about the weather change, the weeks of making tracks, and work on top of it.

I must admit I cannot take credit on the drums, that's a Sullivan King sample from Splice. The drums are just so powerful, they just roll over whatever is in the way. It helps a lot.

Thanks a lot! I think I've been through now - until the next one comes!

Slamming from that beat into ~01:28 was glorious, as was the pick-up back into things at ~01:43
