The Lion Tamer

By Kedbreak136 on July 3, 2022 10:30 am

I thought this week would be ok - that was a very bad mistake. But next week will be better, I am sure! haha...

This track is the equivalent of doing palate cleansing with bleach. It is weird, angular, random. One of these tracks that bubbled up from the deep deep dark recess of my subconscious. Free jazz in a weird circus where a lion tamer is trying to coerce all sorts of felines into random activities. I wanted a psychedelic vibe, a la Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas when Hunter and his lawyer trespass in Las Vegas casinos while struggling with the nerve altering effects of ether. And also an AI voice from vo.codes. This track is bizarre, it is weird and slightly demented. Mission Accomplished.

Chaotic and energetic, I definitely feel the hysteric scene that you summoned from the dark recess of your subconscious ! Well done!

Lol, perfect gif. Pure jazz chaos, the sax especially sounds great. What kind of plugins are you using for it? You got the screeches and the growls and it sounds very convincing.

Thank you! I am happy I was able to capture the sheer madness occuring in my head. smile

Thank you! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a goldmine of alien gifs and memes. I totally cheated on the saxophones! They come from a free jazz library on splice. So they are actual recordings of saxophones going angular. I tried doing a similar thing with some NI library of saxophones and even though you can have access to growls and other weird sounds, it seems to struggle with fast lines. If anyone has a best practice to program free jazz crazy saxophones, please tell me!

I appreciate that first tag; have to admit I was worried. Really like the manic energy that is just bursting from start to finish. I don't know if I go in for bleach palette cleansers, but I think something like this every now and again is very fun.

This is quite the show, I'm kinda impressed.

a very wild ride. the jazzy piano, bass and brass is awesome. however you did this is, it sounds so freestyle. yes, the gif is the right link, but I do not need drugs to enjoy your tracks.

Le fameux sample de fouet, c'est pas la première fois que tu l'utilise celui là!

Mission accomplie pour le coté random, avec une énergie intense. Encore une track amusante a écouter.

That was a lot of fun and did conjure up the chaos of a drug-addled trip into Fear and Loathing land.  I especially liked the voice and the kitty noises.

This is pretty great!

Love the jazz breakdown.  I think that captured the ether vibe perfectly.  big_smile

This is great -- taking notes on the way you mixed traditional type elements with very obviously sequenced drums... The sax mixture is particularly good, but Stanley Parable-sounding narrator "taming, moar like begging amirite?" cutting perfectly through the jagged edges is remarkable. Wonderful bit of psychedelia, this. heart

Haha wow this sounds great, the jazzy dissonant intervals of the piano and the bass remind me of Cyriak's pieces

sax samples are great!  I can't imagine what your dreams are like!

this was strangely dissonant and pleasant at the same time.  I think the mix is so good it makes the insanity very palatable.  great job - was that Liam Neeson again??

Nice one, that was a real trip to listen too, all kinds of bizarre sounds coming together in the best way, I love Fear and Loathing, this is probably what they heard when they took the ether.

Ahhh! Love it!  This is batshit crazy good smile great samples (thanks for bringing back the whip).  The sax really drives it home.  This is my favorite for the week smile

Yes it's good to reset the brain once in a while with some surrealistic food!

Once I added kitty samples the track went downhill into full blown mental clown festival. It's fascinating, really, how far a kitty sample can take you.

Thank you! Herding cats, it's a lost art! Sax is such a wonderful instrument, I need to learn how to play it.

Thank you! Yes, this is indeed the AI powered Liam Neeson from vo.codes again. The quality is really good overall (except some words that are sometimes pronounced weirdly), it has a poetic diction and brings gravitas to any silly situation I put it in.

Fear and Loathing is a fantastic movie, though it kinda loses the depth and layers of the book. but still such a trippy movie.

Love the saxiness theme in this track.  Your music always takes me on a cinematic ride.  From Mr.Specific_set_of_skillz to the frenetic piano dancing with the flaring brass.  No idea how you came up with it but damn this was a fun listen smile
