Misdirection

By Kedbreak136 on April 28, 2024 12:21 pm

I was really uninspired this week and was not very motivated. I got this track which is barebone and not super interesting, but hey i'll try to do better next week.

I don’t know what you’re on about. This is fantastic. The layers of arps are fun, the foley sounds are fantastic. It’s got this real…. 80s beat em up vibe. Like if they made a streets of rage movie back then, this was on the soundtrack

It may not be as packed to the gills with sounds and samples like some of your tracks, but what's here is a lot of fun, has great energy, and even hits a few different moods during its run.

I think it's an arcade game where you get to play Depeche Mode, not sure who you would be beating up though. maybe some fascists who stole Martin Gore's lunch money.

And David Gahan's special move is definitely spinning around and flailing enemies with his superhumanly long arms.

Burnout definitely happens. But you know what, the material sounds quite a bit better than barebones to me. smile

What the creator finds uninspired the listener will find quite entertaining! That synth bass sounds great especially right before that 2min mark where it has that "Never Let Me Down" sound to it. I def think Depeche Mode should get a chance for payback against KMFDM js tongue

All of your years of beat making and have definitely paid off because, even for an uninspired track, you're still writing some bangers heart

Sounds fat. It fits quite well into your discography.

I dig synthwave basses and leads, so this one is solid for me regardless!

I'm also getting into a creative slowdown, plus I'm more busy at work now, so I can totally relate to losing steam. As Trent said, "the way out is through"!

I have a dance I must to do this. Fat bass, chonker lead, nothing to complain about. Some fun misdirection kebreak breaks too, yess. Some weeks we don't feel the inspiration, but showing up, getting up and getting it done is worth it in the end, or so some may say.

I don't think it's possible for you to not make something interesting, the drums and percussion are driving and the synth bass is carrying this track all over the place, definitely channeling some depeche mode at 1:21

Streets of rage and final fight! The minimalistic insisting bass line must have something to do, along with the short synth lines. Thank you for the nice comment!

Thank you! Yes, i felt it's a bit more like a sketch than what I like but this par for the course when doing weekly tracks.

Haha that is an awesome concept. Need to make a beat-em-up game like that, mixed with Rez where each KO is punctuated by a triumphant yet slightly nostalgic 80s synth hit. David Gahan playing the spinning pro-wrestler is definitely the most left hand thing to imagine, that is beautiful.

Yes very true about maybe everyone listening to a track differently. Especially the person who made the track, as they compare the track to what they were imagining what it could be, whereas listeners just hear it for what it is.
KMFDM vs Depeche Mode? in a street fight, i might put my money on KMFDM.

"The way out is through!" - definitely true. Also, there will be another week, it will go up and down, that's a given.

Absolutely, it would not be much of a challenge if it were easy all the time, would it?

Would definitely do too! smile

Thank you everyone for your kind comments!

Kind of fun future retro vibes here.  Do you work mostly with sample loops or you do a lot of programming etc?
