Liminal Times

I am taking a break from the Southern Reach this week. I had some synthwavey track with breakbeats and arps but it did not really do anything from me. On Sunday afternoon, I came home from a run as the rain started to fall. I was recording the sound of the rain, of the cicadas, and the birds. And then this huge thunder struck. I used all these sounds in the track - you can hear the thunder towards the beginning. I added another field recording I did a couple of days ago - the parking at the station where I park my bicycle has this nice little bell so I recorded it and added it to the track. You can even hear me use the machine to unlock the bike.

I added an improvised guitar noodle on top of it. And here you go.

This is not musically very interesting. But I captured a feeling I had at all these times, this feeling of time between times, in liminal spaces and in liminal times.

I am happy with that.

Smoking a cigarette while effortlessly laying down a mournful solo the hero watches the rain flood the city streets.
Loved the cineatic atmosphere of this from the beginning to end. Excellent work!

I like the different approach to liminal which has been infected by yellow walls, liminal is *everywhere*
