Crop Circles

By Kedbreak136 on June 28, 2020 7:38 am

No inspiration this week. When the lack of inspiration strikes, the best is to go for crop rotation. Random music generation to replenish creativity. I ended up playing with dark textures in FLEX, some claustrophobic samples and fretless guitar into a fuzz factory.

It now kinda reminds me of a Doom level music, hence the crop circles. I am not sure this makes sense.

Awesome man, your lack of inspiration track turned out a shitload better than my lack of inspiration tracks do. Very cinematic, love the screams and shit throughout.  The fretless sounds cool as hell too, did you make it yourself?

Totally get you on the Doom vibes. The piano in amongst it all reminds me of old NiN tracks. There's something really ominous about it, too, which I think is really cool.

It's absolutely sinister and ominous sounding.  Wait to spin some gold out of lack of inspiration.

Thank you! The fretless sound is my good old customized ibaness that i got "fretless-ed". It's plugged into a fuzz factory with settings right at the point of the pedal going wild. This allows for feedback effects and this static like noise. I love this pedal so much i have attached it directly to the body of the guitar! smile

I have been listening to a lot of NIN recently, it probably had an impact. smile

Thank you!

Really dark! Love the distorted wails.

This is quite unsettling - NICE JOB, haha.

Based on your description, you battled through no inspiration. That ability is what weeklybeats helps us build.

Whoa, I can hear the DOOM reference for sure. Really intense and cool sound!

Mr. Bungle would totally listen to this.

Nice and dark, love it!

This is scary as hell.  Love it smile

That big opening tone is huge.  Reminds me a little of the The Prodigy at the start.  Definitely not a bad thing!  smile. Good element of darkness.

Yes, there is no merit in making a track when inspiration is flowing. It's all about trying to piece something out of random stuff out of dryed out inspiration that makes the weekly beats challenge cool!
