Totally get you on the Doom vibes. The piano in amongst it all reminds me of old NiN tracks. There's something really ominous about it, too, which I think is really cool.

Thank you! The fretless sound is my good old customized ibaness that i got "fretless-ed". It's plugged into a fuzz factory with settings right at the point of the pedal going wild. This allows for feedback effects and this static like noise. I love this pedal so much i have attached it directly to the body of the guitar!

I have been listening to a lot of NIN recently, it probably had an impact.

That big opening tone is huge.  Reminds me a little of the The Prodigy at the start.  Definitely not a bad thing!  . Good element of darkness.

Yes, there is no merit in making a track when inspiration is flowing. It's all about trying to piece something out of random stuff out of dryed out inspiration that makes the weekly beats challenge cool!
