Conformal Cyclic Cosmology

By Kedbreak136 on April 24, 2022 6:48 am

Here's a speedtrash, assembled in a cafe. This track was demanding something else, so I decided to add some AI reading out an excerpt of a paper related to Conformal Cyclic Cosmology, a theory that proposes that the state at the big bang and the state of an infinitely inflated universe are basically the same and that in a space where matter does not exist anymore, then distance and time do not exist either, making an infinite universe effectively the same size as a planck scale infinitely small universe.

Read by 15.ai.

I am quoting "On the spacetime connecting two aeons in conformal cyclic cosmology".
Correct reference being - A. Auraujo, H. Jenne, J.G. Pereira, A.C. Sampson and L.L Savi, On the spacetime connecting two aeons in conformal cyclic cosmology, arXiv:gr-qc/150305005

I like the contrasts between the spacey parts and the fast energetic parts.  And the AI voice is a lot of fun.  It's cool sometimes to ponder mind blowing concepts like that.

I like your speedtrash tracks. I like the feel of them and I often find myself surprised at what you pack into them. I wonder if it's because you play a little more fast and loose than usual, given the time constraints? Anyway, really enjoyed it! smile

I agree with CosmicCairns, this is an energetic bombastic spacey bliss! Well done!

the music fits very good to the subject of scientific cosmology. I can feel the caffeine working in this track. Lot of energie in this one. well done.

It sounds like you got GLaDOS as a guest star on this track haha.

Ha! Love how the music recedes during the AI but brings on the jam immediately after the statement is made.  Even if I don't know the physics, it's pretty obvious something really awesome was just explained.  The music evokes the cosmos but also a space cowboy samurai adventure.  Love songs about physics smile

Good idea about the CCC. Makes my brain explode a bit but I enjoy it big_smile

Cool track, I get a sense of futuristic rushing.

I like this format, experimental storytelling big_smile very nice! Thanks for the reference also, very scholarly of you big_smile And of course thanks for the great music!

Far out.

Fun adventure. Great quote there, fits in there very nice, and I feel energized, and more educated now, so that's good.

Great transitions from the frenetic high energy to spaced out catch your breath sections.  Great use of the AI reading the paper, interesting stuff, does kind of hurt the brain when you start thinking about it.

I like the voice in the right channel.  That's a bold move, but it makes the voice more of a commentary on the piece, rather than a singer or a musical element.  I like that decision.

HUGE BOOM at 2:06 YIKES that was intimidating.

I feel bad for everyone at the coffee shop who imploded when they were literally just trying to get some coffee.  Then the one barista comes out of the bathroom to see that they are floating in space and they're all like:

"..........are we closing early?"

The ending is remarkable and should have been longer rather (shouldn't have brought the intro sounds back so fast, that tick-tock could have been there for a few bars at least) . Sorry for critique, but it's so good!

100% in agreement, right-channel only is a masterstroke -- inspiring decision, I'm thinking about various other ways that speech & music can be made to coexist NOT IN IMMEDIATE SUPPORT of each other. heart

This is so cool

This is an epic track.  Excellent synths and love the outro.  Nice work!

This one has a nice groove to it. I think there is a nice blend of light sounding bits and heavy things underneath that give the whole thing a nice balanced feel.

Yes, I really don't understand it in any way, but as I was listening to an interview with Roger Penrose talking about this concept of infinite space that is equivalent to infinitely small space, my brain melted down with wonder.

I think there is definitely much less thinking and editing, much more "ok what is the next random thing I could add to this", just going all the way down weird alleys. I am glad you enjoyed it! smile

Thank you very much!

Yes, re-listening to it and the tempo, I was thinking that without coffee I could take the BPM a little down. But with coffee it's always "FASTERTHISNEEDSTOBEFASTER"

Yes absolutely, good catch. This is the GLaDOS voice from 15.ai smile

There is something poetic about obtuse research paper about extreme elements of physics, which just work very well with music. smile Thank you for your nice comment.

It is important to quote sources properly. smile Thank you for listening and for the nice comment!

Infinitely far. Which technically means infinitely close.

Haha nice comment! Thank you! smile

Thank you for the comment! For transitions, I tend to abuse the risers and impacts, it's a bit like a magician waving a shiny handkerchief while they push the rabbit into the hat, but hey, that works and no rabbit was harmed in the process.

Haha, yes, that was the intent of panning the voice there. I did not want us to face the voice, but more to have the voice sitting next to us, like a commentor that takes us through a weird journey that our brains were not meant to comprehend.

Yeah, people were nervous at the cafe. It does not help that I do not use headphones, and had just plugged my Rokit 5 at full power to make sure the mix was appropriate.

(just kidding)

Exactly, voice and music can support each other in different ways! smile For the ending, I think that if I make it longer then I need to vary the theme, maybe adding a few layers, or something else, maybe taking it slowly to an apex. That could work. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you! I have been trying to go for dynamics in tracks, alternating light phases with heavy phases, so that the heavy sounds HEAVIER.
