That line doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, does it. "Rest for a while unless we begin".

Perfect minimal instrumental framing for the lyrics. Classic.

Sparse but very effective.  Nice vocal harmonies also.

Great tune, I love the harmonies. Really vibey and colourful (in a black and white kind of way wink). Once again, mesmerising stuff heart

I'll take out the dictionary:
"Rest for a while in case we begin", "rest for a while for fear that we begin", "rest for a while that we begin not", "rest for a while in order that we begin not".

The "before" synonym isn't related to time, but a "rather than" sort of deal.

So that's the dictionary. You're right, it's not what it means, but it's still a weird sentence.

Is this English class?

[lest]
conjunction
for fear that; so that (one) should not (used negatively to introduce a clause expressive of an action or occurrence requiring caution):
"He kept his notes by his side LEST faulty memory lead him astray."

In the original song that this line is an homage to the lyric is : "rest for a while my son LEST we begin to shadow all the lonely people in thier little skin"

Which is fine . also EVERYTHING is fine cus its a song and there are no rules weirdos.
