germ of life

By kaedo sevaada on February 23, 2020 6:23 am

"A small bird twitters on a leafless spray,
Across the snow-waste breaks a gleam of gold:
What token can I give my friend to-day
I thought the world was cold in death;
      The flowers, the birds, all life was gone,
      For January's bitter breath
      Had slain the bloom and hushed the song.
      And still the earth is cold and white,
      And mead and forest yet are bare;
      But there's a something in the light
      That says the germ of life is there.
      ~Mrs. Jane [Goodwin] Austin, "February," c.1886

Haunting with particularly great use of reverb.  I'm picturing myself walking through a deep cave.

Man, I'm a sucker for the sound of those first notes on the cello (or double bass).  Really draws you in and contrasts perfectly with your vocal range.  I've probably said this before, but you use reverb like an instrument!

Those strings really give a nice balance to the song.

I too am a fan of your reverb mastery.  This felt like the introduction to a dark fairy tale smile  Nice work!

Oh I meant to ask am I the only one not seeing the song art load?  I've noticed the past few weeks for your tracks I'm getting the gray stop sign thingy.

you manage to find the right ballance between your beautiful voice and the strings. everything seems to fly and drift into heaven. it has a peaceful beauty.
