Such a sad ending. A hint more compression would help your vocals and guitar come alive, like a LA2A optical style compressor / plug, or a SSL style compressor would work well too.

yeah, the recording is definitely flawed. More than anything this was just a reference to the song at this point. I need to get quicker with producing.  I think I finally have a handle on the basics of how to properly use compression without chopping and squashing everything. I'm re-recording the track this week and my goal is to make it "pop". I'm not familiar with the different varieties of compressors though.
