"what if I just made a simple piano song this week since I'm so busy," i said, and then did this instead

i don't understand how brass instruments work... maybe I should try to play one at some point so they're less of a shouty mystery

They're not all they're cracked up to be, mostly because they're super loud, even with a mute.

Great work by the way, got a slick groove going on.

Yeah for sure... my dad played trombone sometimes and imagining a bunch of those in one room makes my ears hurt just thinking about it.
Been listening to a lot of Mario sound tracks and it sounds like they do kind of sort of an arpeggio down to get out of a brass blast but I'm not even certain what to search for to find out which notes to use for something like that, but it sounds like a way to kind of.... soften how shouty brass feels??

Anyway, thanks : )

A slide? Couldn't tell you for sure, you'll have to ask a brass player.
