1/4 done weeklybeats! for the occasion i did the most ridiculous and over-the-top song you can possibly imagine.

it includes live guitar, piano solos, overboard trance climaxes, vocals (chopped from acapellas) and a kitchen sink.

this was actually one of 7 songs that i did this week, one for every day. i'm eventually gonna post them all up on bandcamp but i gotta run right now! yikes

i hope you enjoy!!!

ALSO i realize that listening to this piece is a bit of an investment so i promise i'll comment back to anyone who comments here. thanks heart

Haha, this was indeed an investment. But I think one well spent.
While the chord structure's super simple, your improvisatory melodies are quite pretty (especially on the guitar!) and justify it entirely. The background arpeggios are very nice, and I must say that trance section's super uplifting. The sampled vocals also add a lot to that last section there.
One thing I'm not so sure of is the breaks and kit samples used. They do feel a little out of place in a piece like this, although I do appreciate that you went over-the-top with this song. We need more of that.
Overall, cool work on this'un.

There ought to be an edit comment button, and I'm sure I'm not the first to note this.

still good work

I totally understand! Actually, starting this week I've been trying to be a little less lazy with my drums - particularly, trying to make my drums out of one shots rather than just slapping loops on top of my song and calling it a day, so I understand there are probably lots of problems there. Thanks for pointing that out.

Really nice, love the guitar! This piece is really long, but there are nice contrasts in it.

beautiful!

Before I even start...you wrote 7 songs this week!? Wow...send me some of that motivation please big_smile

Here is my commentary, live, from within your track:
I'm sitting amidst a lovely mellow piano, melodies soaring around me like birds - very nostalgic new age vibe, lulling me
What's this? Little cymbal rush teasing me, but now I'm back in the lovely rosy mist.
The kick drum puts me on edge again, but the delicate melodies reassure me...yes, things are going to get a little crazy, but all is well smile
Now in a playful space, dancing memories, gated pads tickle, and...oh man, here we go!
*nods head for indefinite period*

Left pretty happy by lovely synth lead, then washed up on a desert island to ponder the earlier melodies with some lovely guitar...I realise it's all part of there same journey, the same 3 chords, the same trip, then that feeling brings on a giddiness and some lovely firefly synths! Then...Island rave as the sun goes down!

Sorry, longest comment ever for the longest track smile great celebratory vibe!

I really enjoyed the different synth parts especially the lead solo towards the middle.  The guitar is especially cool with the waves washing in and dang 7 tracks!? Grab hold of that inspiration!  Nice job!

Definitely some good moments amongst the track.  The guitar part is quite nice and blends well with the arpeggiated synth line.  Not a fan of some of the drums but hey...  smile  The end is tied together nicely for the track.
