M8: Fade Away

Yet another live jam, this one with a major mistake. But we're on a train that doesn't stop for anyone, on to the next station!

Yes I did break my 'no more gear' resolution, but the RK006 and the AKAI MIDI MIX produce no sounds, so they are exempt from the ban. I suck at it terribly, but the live performance aspect of the M8 is not to be frowned upon. Prepare the instruments and phrases in bed at night and then assemble it on the table with a bunch of sliders!

Damn dude classic sound - sounds great. Great use of the live reverb send.
And that akai looks great for a midi controller you could power off a brick I assume?

OOOOOh but the rk0006 is necessary here on account of no din / 1/8" midi I bet...

yea it’s not as minimal as i would like.

Man I really love this, flows ever so freely, and that huge bass is, well, huuuuge heart

The quiet drums around 3:10 (backwards snare, maybe?) against that percussive bass is also perfect. Man, really like this. (That reverb-made sustain at the end is sweeeeet).

I can't spot the mistake, btw -- watched the video and it's even more awesome w/ your ever-so-controlled automation. Awesome tune heart

Too kind. I didn’t mean to choke everything with the high pass dj filter around 3:40. Few more weeks of suffering for you and Ill get the hang of it smile

Nothings a mistake if you see it thru! And that moment works—particularly on repeat listens. I also perceived as way more exciting when watching the video. So mistake shmistake, this owns. (Also just heard yours and Noggin’s from last night and it’s the best ever. Life’s incomplete until we all occupy the same physical space sometime! heart

I like this one a lot, cool to see the gear and hear about the workflow. The M8 seems like a very powerful piece of kit. The way the piece evolves keeps it compelling and interesting throughout, always keen to hear where it goes next.

total foot stomper - really lovely!
