Helium Harvest

The feedback on the first track was overwhelmingly positive, despite it being meh. Thanks for all the positive vibes. However the warning remains. To get anywhere this year I am not trying to produce good stuff. Just exploring. Feel free to be honest.

I do enjoy the BBS-like experience of WB. In stark contrast to the average social network comments. However I feel like we're being just a tad too nice to each other. But then I look at the news and... fuck it. let's be nice to each other. Everyone knows where they lack smile

i hear a crunchy acid lead i like

Loving these synth sounds. Very satisfying when the slide-y chords come back around 2:30, tying things up. Apologies for being so positive, but I really like this. I won't even rave about how sick the stop-start break is at the start, but it is.

Maybe you rendered something you didn't mean to at 3:24? I've done that so many times.

The texture of the pads/chords is rly good

Haha, yea. Not the first time it's happened either smile

I was worried it's too cheesy. But I like it.

Too kind. I guess it's the OTT at play.

I like this a lot, seems you are making good stuff while exploring. smile

Listening, finally! (Been having me a what-a-week and it’s only Tuesday…)

Pitch slides around the bass and old school jimmac vibes wrt the vocal samples (yesss!) this is rad, loving how deetroit this gets, what with the wet acid!

I don’t think of my comments as kindness meaning I’m not trying to find things I like and keep some advice hidden. Here’s a few ideas for fun and or profit (I love this track as is, pads are really fuckin good):

1. Sped up kicks + ZDF HP set to 03-08 with almost maxed out RES seems to resonate some excellent subs that are hard to tune but can be an excellent source of oomph for bass-less sections
2. Good source of cheating thru track repetitiveness / variations is using track level commands that I sometimes sequence from bass / BD channels — selectively mute and unmute busy patterns makes fill design easier (and saves needing to clone acid patterns).
3. Similar to (2), you can create a TRACKING envelope set to 0 AMT by default and turn it on and off (provided you have a modulator to spare) which means that kicks can occasionally tweak cutoff or AMP as necessary.

Just listened to both of yours for the year and you’re wrong about kindness, you’re just making good stuff, man. heart

Thanks man. Gonna try to use those special spices soon. I am a simple man that has not used the MOD LFO yet (!!).

riding the good wave offset. I'm sure it'll cancel out soon smile Damn it I can't take a compliment. Thank you! That's What I wanted to reply with.

criticism: "The act of criticizing, especially adversely. A critical comment or judgment. The practice of analyzing, classifying, interpreting, or evaluating literary or other artistic works."

perhaps the critique is this:
"you’re wrong about kindness, you’re just making good stuff, man."

is there something you are wanting more specific feedback on that would be helpful to you?

ok i'll be mean:

could you please make you low effort tracks sound worse - it would be a comfort to the rest of us
