Thoughts and Prayers

By Jim Wood on January 13, 2018 6:15 pm

Vacuous insincerities. Begun in Live 9, finished in 10 beta. Mac computer voices Bruce, Kathy and Alex.

I like the satyrical humor in this

Probably the only time I've ever enjoyed hearing a mac voice. How're you finding 10 beta?

Thanks, guys. So far, no problems with 10. Although M4L doesn't seem to load any faster.

I have grown a great dislike towards insincere "thoughts and prayers" over the past few years, but this kind of takes the piss out of the notion in a wonderfully trippy sort of way.  Sorry for your loss indeed.

Nice Trip man!

Hahaha... wow.  Tripped out as fark.  Nice stereo work.

We have a  Vietnam vet friend who particularly hates "Thank you for your service." Like being drafted gave him a choice.

Thanks all, for your kind comments!

"Vacuous insincerities." Very well said. That crap drives me nuts. Nice track, Jim!

most brutal track title.  such a creepy ending with the time stretch.  the breakdowns could segue nicely into a dance-rave track.

that sustained synth shimmer is the secret hero here!

THE DEVIL IS TALKING TO ME. THE DEVICE HAS COOL BASS SOUNDS (what were those made with?)

Thanks guys! The synth was Live Operator Jarble Perator; the bass was Absence. Both presets were modified using M4L LFOs controlling filter frequency and attacks.

Masterful manipulation, always amazes me

This track reminds a bit of a science fiction film soundtrack. The synths sound amazing. Wonderful arrangement as well.

Very nice use of the Mac voices, Jim.

That was a fun, and thought provoking trip! Cool sounds, voices and arrangement.

Excellent!

Always enjoy the spacial element of your pieces.  Refreshing.
A shame M4L doesn't load any faster.  I'm going to upgrade Max MSP but I'm not going to worry about Live myself me thinks.
