The Finder

More experiments in minimal techno. More failures, at least in as much as I ended up somewhere in melodic techno? Or something else entirely? I’m so bad with genres.

Could be modern Roland grooveboxes just just spoil me with their gigantic sonic pallet. Maybe I need to go modular and painstakingly etch every ephemeral tone in a patch of coper and blood — and then be forced to pull it all out for the next take — before I will discover the true meaning of minimal? I hope not. I don't think I'm mentally equipped to let go in the way necessary to appreciate such a transitory experience. Also I'm too poor.

I mixed with the AC on, so discovered far too late that I left the noise of the Juno chorus FX turned all the way up. Eff it, it’s part of the song now. People layer in vinyl scratch and tape hiss on purpose all the time. It adds “character”.

Also, one of my favorite comic book series of all time is “Finder” by Carla Speed McNeil. That has nothing to do with this song or the title, but I wanted to state it for the record.

That's a good sounding AC! Is it rack mount?

It totally is! No MIDI though, it only takes voltage sad

this is some infectious minimal techno right here, got my head-boppin out of my control, just the way it should be big_smile

Love that alternating beat at the beginning and dueling baselines throughout.  Good synth voice choices and samples/fx for this.
