So my sickness turned out to be COVID. So we got to do all the packing and none of the traveling. But it’s given me time to play with the new T-8 and J-6.

What fun little boxes! I'm used to playing, say, my 404 or Tracker or Micromonsta with an Anker battery pack attached, and it never seemed like a big deal to me. But between these new AIRA Compact boxes and the M8, I'm really starting to see why people clamoring for a rechargeable Li-ion batteries in anything smaller than a desktop. It's so convenient! Of course, I spent most of this week asleep in bed or on the couch, so that might have something to do with it.

I think I've turned the corner on COVID as far as fevers, chills, and all that goes. But still a little short on breath and my ears are all wonky. None of my cans sound like they should. I mixed this on, like, five different headphones and nothing was lining up for me. So, you know, hope it’s not a mess!

And if it is, definitely don't blame the the T-8/J-6. I'm really impressed with their sound shaping and mixing capabilities, actually. Unexpectedly robust for “toy” boxes. I just need less gunk in my ears to take advantage.
