Something I've realized is that making a song a week does not leave a lot of time for experimenting with what to do the week following.

Like, I got the urge to do some dungeon. So break out the SC-88. But I haven't touched a SoundCanvas in probably 15 years and it's been almost a year since I last dusted off the Squarp.

So here we are, 15 minutes before the deadline. The mix: rough. The narrative: confused. But it tells me what to do when I get to come back to it, so I'm calling that a win.

All sounds from an SC-88 sequenced with a Pyramid through a Midiverb II,

Great title, got me interested enough to check it out ahead of the queue.  I know what you mean about the weekly schedule not giving you time to experiment, but congrats on making it anyway (with 15 minutes left, whew}.  The SC-88 patches sounded great—the harpsichord/low piano and some percussion seem clearer and more "real" than the equivalent TG500 patches.

Weird coincidence: including this track and mine, there are at least three tracks this week that begin with the sound of strong winds.

Thanks! I spent way too much time faffing about with them to get them to sound just right (hence both the title and me running short on time). And I think, ultimately, it detracted a little. A lot of the nostalgia, for me, comes from the almost ROMpler quality of SC patches. I'll use them again in other contexts, but next time I do an intentionally soundcanvas jam, I'm going to do more bread-and-butter general midi for sure.
