this is what I get for trying new things

another trance-ish friend this week.

I tried something new and think I paid the price for it. since trance and its disco related friends are all very phrase and bar length oriented, I decided to try making a couple of major aspects of this 3 bars instead of 4. that meant it needed to play 3 times to line up back with the 8 bar grid, and 6 times to actually come fully back around to match with normal phrasing.

it's neat and I get why people do it, but it held me captive. I think there's something real here, but I'll have to wait until I'm more confident with this idea before I come back to it. I think going _longer_ is probably easier for me to pull off than shorter--since you're going to have to sit with the repetitions longer before we get back to phrase town.

Really nice! I love the breakdown/build early on and the layering with the pulsating strings synth. The main synth arp is great too

I'll never say no to a little trance

VERY fun UNTS-UNTS vibes here!!! Loved it! Awesome to hear you experimenting, too!

Ahh reminds me of watching a recording of a Chicane videoclip over and over again - simpler times.

A worthwhile experiment, I think. Keep playing with the idea. Nice work!

not sure how i missed this but i went back for a listen and really enjoyed it! nice pads and atmospheres, sound design is on point.
