bings and boops and bass

vcv rack again this week. I ended up playing with a number of things that I definitely think I'm going to be keeping going forward.
one thing I really liked was cv mixing the melody. I have a random melody from turing machine, a fixed melody from a sequencer that's basically just octave jumps, and a second random melody from the turing machine volts expander. you're always hearing the octave jump sequence, and every 4 bars it's randomly mixed with either one or both of the turing machine lines.
you get that happy brain pattern from the fixed line, and then we've got 3 options for what notes get played. if I adjust the turing machine to get new notes, we get _3_ new lines that all act off of each other. definitely something I want to try and emulate in hardware now.
I've also realized that with melodies pulled from the aether like this, shorter is better. I can generate and quantize a massive sequence of musical, logically played notes in a scale, but unless we're shooting for remaking eruption, shorter grooves way better.
