Soliloquy of the Flightless Bird

By Jazzaria on September 1, 2024 11:16 pm

To be a bird and not to soar, rather like a dinosaur. Essence and nature aren't always aligned. Wondering, aspiring, perspiring - the flightless bird is grounded.

Featuring clarinet.

This brought me back to when I was a young teen playing "Secret of Evermore" for the first time.

Jeremy and Julian Soule's OST for that game was on another level, and I didn't even know instrumental/classical music could sound so great on an SNES.

I used to play clarinet some 20 years back. This brings back memories of when it was fun. But keeping the muscles of the lips strong and trained was somewhat of a chore if I'm being honest big_smile

The track sounds great with the reverb/delay combination that comes and goes. Makes the improvisation feel quite eerie. Very musical and interesting for a solo clarinet piece. Nicely mixed, too! I enjoyed this.
