malik's travels

By Jason Nijjer on January 21, 2018 4:24 am

Not sure how I feel about this one, but that is all time will permit.  Drums all done in reason, chopped up some flute and rhodes samples in reason, scratches done from a hip hop 12" (Malik Goes On), always fun scratching some vinyl, even if I don't really know what I'm doing.

Nice variations in the basedrum and this flute part is sweeeeet.

hell yeah, i'm also trying to learn how to scratch.  I don't understand fader technique!

I really liked the shaker.  Really glued the beat together.

really like those cosy drums
whole thing very atmospheric, sounds seem to correspond perfectly

The rap really works well against the loops.

Faved & saved!

Gotta love the sound of those subs bouncing in and out.  The whole rhythm (especially the shaker) works great with the slick scratching and rhodes.  Nice job! smile

I always enjoy it to a point I could not hear a single scratch for a few days. Sooo much time to achieve decent rhytmic patterns with the fader... Guess we must automate the mix and cheat a little bit smile

Great groove!
