Started with trying something different this week, first was a 808 heavy house tune, scrapped that, then tried more rock sounding kit of drums, scrapped that one too, finally had to just "take it back" to 90's inspired, downtempo, hiphop instrumental tune, thanks for listening, maybe next week will be different ... but probably not.

That intro is magic - with the flute and the backing vocal. I like how the ear gets used to the frequencies so that when the beat enters, the kick sounds huge. Are the backing vocal a sample or did you use a VST for that?

Thanks for the always thoughtful comments, the vocals are my own … just kidding, they are from a vst plug-in that manipulates samples (output’s arcade). Really nice tool to get those style backing vocals.
Haunting vocals with a slick head nodder of a beat. The backing strings are a nice touch and play nicely with that teardrop_synth. Nice work!
