Train-ing Day Blues

So... If last week was a cheat week, umm, this was a... cheatier week...? I've been sitting on this little riff for a while, not sure if I've subconsciously borrowed from somewhere, but I figured making a good ol' 12 bar of it should get me through a busy week so I don't fall off the wagon.

I started with just 4 times through to back a bit of improv noodling, but me being me, I wanted to give it at least something a little different, and then came the train build up rhythm, and of course, the cliché vamp ending. Did I think of adding something cheesy as a train whistle sample...? Well, yes, yes I did, but I decided against it in the end, because I feel like it's probably been done at least 17 times before, so yeah...

My learning this week, my first attempt at mastering (it's a basic 'vintage' thing, but gotta start somewhere), tinkering with tempo changes, and also resisting the urge to do 'perfect' leads constructed from many takes, instead opting for a classic 'warts n all' approach, using only a couple of takes for the end product.
