Moonlit Stroll Through the Cemetery

By Jai Cafarella on April 10, 2022 8:14 pm

So, while last minute throw togethers are pretty usual for me, I have actually been working on a couple of more substantial songs (honest!), but alas, neither were quite ready for this week, so, another last minute throw together it is!

The base intro bit is an old guitar idea of mine, using a fade in effect pedal, but that effect for guitar requires a signal input reset before every note so it does the fade in properly (you need to choke every note before playing the next), so I thought I'd try it with a synth instead, and just went from there. I came up with the middle part without using the first part for reference (oops), so when I put them together, they sounded quite incompatible. That's where the drone and the little 'feel shift' parts came in, as sort of a weird glue.

I don't know what your on about, this flows really well to me! The transitions work great. Title nails the mood of the track too.

Ah!!! The weird glue of songwriting lol, like when I did that riff we were talking about in the wrong key!! But it is really fun working out a way to make it work isnt it!! Another weekly beats benefit, making it work no matter what

Very cinematic
