Insurrection

A couple of new trick attempts in this one; mainly, I wanted to have a kinda messy and cold vocal but still be reasonably understandable. I ran the vocals and the drums through the same gated reverb bus to try for some weirdness as they both fight over the gate threshold, and also had a rotary effect on the vocal so it 'moves'. When listening to the 'final' mix on these sorts of vocal experiments, I always find myself wondering if I only think the vocals are understandable enough because I just wrote and performed them, while others might not *shrug*

The other thing I tried was a verse/chorus vocal in one sort of thing, keeping the intro/middle/outro instrument melody driven. I have tried similar before, but not necessarily on purpose, it was more a case of only coming up with one vocal part and it either had a verse or chorus vibe, but this was specifically trying to be both. Not sure it worked properly, but at least new things were attempted.

You left our souls deprived of shining
To stem our rise
Imploding promises of nothing
Suppress us with lies
Straight jacket for the voice of reason
Lock it away
Here comes the insurrection season
It's time to play

We are the children of your creation
Our manifestations are taking you down
We are the children of liberation
A standing ovation as you fall down
We're taking down
